Milešovka from Teplice

A 23 km alternative approach to Milešovka — from Teplice on the red waymark over the ridges, blue to the summit, dinner at the Velemín motorest.

Everyone climbs Milešovka from Velemín or Milešov; this is the long way in, for a second or third visit — starting a whole ridge system away in Teplice and letting the highest mountain of the Středohoří grow in front of you for half a day.

From Teplice station the red waymark leads south out of the spa town and settles into a rhythm of wooded ridges and saddles — Lbín, Hradiště, Mošnov — with the summit weather observatory appearing and disappearing ahead. At Černčice the blue waymark takes over for the main event: the final climb is steep from every side, and February conditions can add ice near the top, but the reward is the classic one — the windiest summit in Bohemia, with the observatory tower and a horizon that runs from the Krušné hory to Říp.

The descent drops south to Velemín, where the motorest by the road serves the traditional post-summit dinner and beer. The practical exit: bus from Velemín to Lovosice and the direct train to Prague — the walked track continues the short hop to Bílý Újezd.
