The highest peak of the České středohoří (837 m) and the windiest place in the Czech Republic, topped by a meteorological observatory measuring continuously since 1905.
Milešovka is the roof of the České středohoří at 837 m, a steep forested cone that stands clear of the surrounding hills. It is statistically the windiest place in the Czech Republic — calm days come only about eight times a year — and thunderstorms strike it so often it earned the name “thunder mountain”. The meteorological observatory on the summit has been recording since 1905, one of the longest unbroken series in the country. The reward for the steep climb, from whichever side, is a full-circle view of the středohoří.
