The emblem of the western České středohoří — a Gothic castle ruin with two towers on a basalt hill above Klapý, its White Tower open as a lookout.
Hazmburk is the hill you keep seeing from half of northwest Bohemia: a lone basalt cone above the village of Klapý, 3.5 km from Libochovice, with the silhouette of two medieval towers on top. The Gothic castle that once covered the whole summit is a ruin, but both towers stand. The Black Tower in the lower castle is an oval of dark basalt — 25 m tall, walls two metres thick, no entrance. The White Tower of the upper castle, named for the pale sandstone of its upper storeys, has a staircase inside and serves as a lookout: from the top the view runs across the whole range — Milešovka, Lovoš, Radobýl, Sedlo — and south to Říp.
