Lookouts to Zubrnice

A 30.1 km day from Děčín over the Velký Chlum lookout and the Verneřice plateau to Víťova rozhledna, ending in the museum village of Zubrnice.
The whole day runs inside CHKO České středohoří, and the hardest part comes first: from Děčín’s main station the path climbs steeply out of the Labe valley to Velký Chlum, where a small lookout tower stands right on the route and pays for the sweat with a view back over Děčín. The route then settles onto the high, open Verneřice plateau, rolling through Velká Veleň, Rychnov and Mukařov.
Verneřice itself has an unglamorous but dependable lunch option — a workers’ canteen that doubles as the village pub. Beyond it comes the highlight: Víťova rozhledna, right beside the path on its 616 m knoll, with the best panorama of the day.
The finish is Zubrnice, a village worth unhurried time — the skanzen buildings are spread through the living village, so the walk ends inside the exhibit. Buses run from Zubrnice to Ústí nad Labem, where you change to the Prague train.
