Zubrnice

A village-green village in the středohoří hills that doubles as the youngest open-air museum in the Czech Republic (1988) — timbered houses, a working general store, a water mill and a heritage railway station.

Zubrnice is both a living village and a museum: since 1988 — the youngest skanzen in the country — it has served as the rescue open-air museum for folk buildings of the České středohoří and the Podkrušnohoří, relocated here among the original timbered and half-timbered houses around the village green. The exhibits include a village school frozen around the 1940s, a still-stocked general store, and a water mill on the Lučný brook. Rail enthusiasts keep the 1890 station alive with historic railcar rides in summer.
