Mšeno

A small town at the eastern gate of the Kokořínsko sandstone — Art Deco municipal baths from 1932, the Debř rock park, and rail access into the walking country.

Mšeno is the eastern gateway to the Kokořínsko: a small town on the plateau rim with sandstone ravines starting practically at the last houses. Its two calling cards are both a short walk from the square. The municipal baths of 1932 are a protected cultural monument — a pure Art Deco swimming complex that still operates in summer, First-Republic atmosphere included. And the Debř forest park, laid out in 1915, drops into the first of the rock valleys with staircases carved directly into the sandstone and a miniature of Kokořín castle among the outcrops.

The railway station connects towards Mělník and Mladá Boleslav, which makes Mšeno the standard start or finish for traverses of the Kokořínský důl and the eastern plateau.
