Míchova skála

Two granite towers up to 13 m high in the woods northeast of Javořice — a nature monument and, since a 1980s forest fire opened the horizon, one of the highlands' few real viewpoints.

Míchova skála is what frost does to granite given enough time: two rock towers rising to 13 m from a field of frost-shattered blocks, among the best-preserved examples of summit weathering in the Jihlavské vrchy and protected as a nature monument. A forest fire in the 1980s cleared the stands around the rock, and the accidental gift remains — from the top of the towers (an easy scramble) there is a wide view over the highland woods, rare in this forested country.

The green-marked trail links the rock with Javořice 1.7 km away; the Velký Pařezitý pond with its swimming spots lies a similar distance on the other side.
