A 30.1 km day from Děčín over the Velký Chlum lookout and the Verneřice plateau to Víťova rozhledna, ending in the museum village of Zubrnice.

The whole day runs inside CHKO České středohoří, and the hardest part comes first. From Děčín’s main station the path climbs steeply out of the Labe valley to Velký Chlum. A small lookout tower stands right on the route there, and from it you look back over Děčín and the Labe. The route then continues over the high, open Verneřice plateau, through Velká Veleň, Rychnov and Mukařov.

km 17.81

Verneřice has a plain lunch option, a workers’ canteen that also serves as the village pub. After Verneřice the path passes Víťova rozhledna on its 616 m knoll. Climb the tower. The view from the top is the widest of the day.

km 24.72

The walk ends in Zubrnice. Take your time there, the skanzen buildings are spread through the living village, so you walk through the exhibit on your way to the bus. Buses run from Zubrnice to Ústí nad Labem, where you change to the Prague train.
