To the Pub at Nižbor
Křivoklátsko · CHKO Křivoklátsko · Point to point · hiked 14 December 2024
A 22 km winter connector from Kladno through the woods to Nižbor — a route chosen for its destination: the Zastávka Nižbor railway pub.
Honesty first: this is not a scenic highlight of the region — if you want Křivoklátsko at its best, look at the routes along the Berounka instead. This walk earns its keep differently: it fills a short December day, and it ends at a favourite pub.

From Kladno station the route leaves the city south through Braškov and Valdek, crosses the open plateau past the hamlet of Amerika to Malé Kyšice, and only then gets properly into the woods — the second half runs through the forests of the CHKO Křivoklátsko, gently downhill almost all the way to the Berounka.

The finish is the point of the exercise: Nižbor and the Zastávka Nižbor pub, built into an old railway hut with a few retired railcars parked around it, conveniently next to the halt on the Beroun–Rakovník line for the ride out.
