A 17.4 km exploratory loop from Úštěk over the hills to Levín — a hidden gem of a village — and back through Starý Týn.
A rest-day loop from a base in Úštěk — the kind of walk you do when you know a region well and want the joy of finding the bits you don’t. Under twenty kilometres, no logistics, and one genuine discovery in the middle.
From the edge of Úštěk the route climbs north-west through Dolní and Horní Vysoké into the hills above the town. The destination — Levín — is the hidden gem of the Úštěk country: a tiny former town on its knoll that most walkers pass by without ever turning in, worth every step of the detour.
The return leg swings east through Dolní Bukovina and Starý Týn, rolling orchard-and-field country with the Úštěk church tower guiding you home. The loop closes at Lhota by the town’s edge, with Úštěk’s pubs and the lake for the evening.

Úštěk
A small medieval town on a sandstone spur at the edge of the České středohoří, with a long sloping square and the curious "bird houses" built onto the rocks.

A hilltop pottery townlet north of Úštěk — six hundred years of unbroken ceramic tradition, a round late-Baroque church on the square, and a 13th-century castle ruin above.
