Oblík

The perfect steppe cone of the Lounské středohoří — 509 m, a national nature reserve, with Srdov and Brník continuing the line of hills eastward.

Oblík is the textbook cone of the Lounské středohoří: a smooth dome of 509 m rising alone from the fields, its name (“the rounded one”) doing the describing. The slopes carry some of the best-preserved steppe grassland in Bohemia — a national nature reserve since 1967 — and the climb, short but relentlessly steep, ends on an open summit with the whole gallery in view: Raná west, Milešovka and the main range east, Krušné hory across the basin.

Srdov and Brník, the two lower cones continuing the line eastward, make the natural extension — the three summits in a row are the classic steppe-hills traverse, with Libčeves below to finish.
