Lipská hora

A steep trachyte cone above Lipá, one of the sharpest silhouettes of the central Středohoří — its sun-baked southern slopes a nature reserve of warm-loving flora.

Lipská hora is one of the hills that give the central České středohoří its saw-toothed skyline: a steep, regular trachyte cone above the village of Lipá, climbing to nearly 700 m. The southern half of the hill is a nature reserve — the warm, dry slopes carry steppe-like plant communities rare this far north — and the summit rocks reward the sharp final climb with a close-range panorama of Milešovka, Ostrý and the whole company of cones. There is no easy way up; that is rather the point.
