A bare phonolite cone above Nový Bor, fourth highest of the Lužické hory — a nature reserve since 1967, with a rocky summit platform and one of the finest circular views in northern Bohemia.
Klíč is the landmark of the western Lužické hory: a solitary, regular phonolite cone of 760 m that stands apart from the ridge and shows from almost everywhere around Nový Bor. The whole hill has been a nature reserve since 1967. The summit is a bare rocky platform with a full circular view — Nový Bor directly below, the Lužické hory ridge, the Ralsko country, the České středohoří and Ještěd, and on clear days the Jizerské hory, Krkonoše and Říp. The south-west flank drops in a rock wall up to 60 m high above a large scree field; in late winter it grows icefalls.
