Jevín

The earthwork remains of a small medieval castle above Jeviněves — reputedly a robber-knight's seat destroyed in the 14th century, with a massive neck moat still readable in the woods.

Jevín is a castle reduced to its earthworks: a small stronghold of the 13th–14th century on a spur above Jeviněves, first held by Pešek of Válovice and destroyed — tradition says as a robber-knight’s nest — in the 14th century. What survives is the ground itself: a neck moat thirty metres wide and eight deep guarding the approach, ramparts, and only scraps of actual masonry. The pottery and weapons dug from the site sit in the National Museum and in Litoměřice. A quiet, readable little ruin for those who like their castles archaeological.
