Dubičky

viewpoint · České středohoří

A hamlet on the rim of the Labe valley whose 1579 church of St Barbara stands at one of the finest viewpoints over the river's course through the Středohoří.

Dubičky is a couple of farms and a church on the very rim of the Labe valley — and the church of St Barbara, standing here since 1579, marks what many call the finest view of the river in the whole Středohoří. The terrace beside the churchyard looks down several hundred metres to the water as it bends through Porta Bohemica, with Deblík, Varhošť and Lovoš stacked around the gorge. Painters found the spot long before hikers: the Doerellova vyhlídka just along the rim is named for one of them.
