Smetanova Lhota

village · Písecko

A village north of Písek with notable rural architecture — a chapel on the green, a log granary — and the Baroque Karlov castle at its edge.

Smetanova Lhota, first mentioned in 1384, keeps a nice ensemble of South Bohemian rural architecture: a chapel on the village green, a preserved log granary and traditional farmsteads. South-west of the village stands the Baroque castle and farm estate of Karlov.
