Hořidla

lookout tower · 371 m · České středohoří

A freely accessible 14 m steel lookout tower (2008) on a 371 m hill near Chotiněves, with a circular view from the České středohoří to Říp and Ještěd.

The Hořidla tower stands on a low hill of the same name southwest of Chotiněves, about 13 km northeast of Litoměřice. Built in 2008, it is a simple steel structure — 14 m, 67 steps, free and open year-round — but the hill’s position between the České středohoří and the Polabí flatland gives its platform a genuinely wide circular view: the central Středohoří summits on one side, Ronov, Vlhošť and the Lužické hory to the north, Ještěd on a clear day, and Říp floating over the plain to the south. Access is on foot only, easiest by the yellow-marked path from Jištěrpy.
