Sloup Rocks to Zahrádky
Máchův kraj , Point to point , hiked 1 August 2025
A 29.1 km walk south from Nový Bor over the Sloup rock castle, the Svojkov rocks and Česká Lípa, ending at the Zahrádky chateau park.
An evening bus from Česká Lípa gets you to Nový Bor for the night. The glass town under Klíč is an easy base, and it doesn’t matter if you arrive late. The walking only starts in the morning.

Sloup v Čechách is the first stop and the best one. Pay the entry fee and go in for the stairways cut through the middle of the rock. From Sloup the route continues through the Svojkov rocks, where sandstone overhangs and a small chapel stand among the pines, and then crosses easier country towards Česká Lípa. The town is the practical middle of the day. It has shops and pubs, and the moated Lipý castle by the river if you want a short detour.

The last leg follows the Robeč valley south out of town to Zahrádky, where the walk ends at the chateau village on the edge of Peklo. Buses run from here, and if you still have energy, the Peklo gorge itself is a natural extension.
